Thanks to its many benefits, tea is the ideal companion for your working days. Indeed, although coffee is known to be the most consumed drink in the office, tea offers a most attractive alternative.

Why drink it at work? Tea relaxes, calms and uplifts the mood. It also increases alertness, banishes lethargy and fights fatigue. It’s the perfect way to feel better and to feel energized enough to continue the day.

Why choose tea vs coffee:

Coffee: Caffeine rushes through the bloodstream and its effects are quickly felt. An exciting effect is felt approximately 30 minutes – 1 hour after ingestion.

Tea: the effect of theine is more gradual and will last 6 to 8 hours. Tea is therefore ideal for developing your alertness and concentration throughout the day. It gives basic energy and is not addictive unlike caffeine.

Which infusion to choose at the office?

To wake up without getting irritated, black tea is perfect in the morning. If you are looking for a more pronounced taste, go for recipes like English Breakfast, Assam or Earl Gray. Also choose it when you want to aid your digestion or lower your cholesterol level.

Tonic and stimulating, green tea, like Sencha, is known to effectively support physical and intellectual effort. Its taste is smoother on the palate and it can be drunk easily all day long.

If your work is more sedentary and you want to keep the figure, wulong tea will be the choice par excellence. Round in the mouth and floral, this infusion will help you burn fat faster by activating your metabolism. Wulong also contains polyphenols which are able to block enzymes that build fat.

If you have trouble sleeping, opt for herbal teas after 3:00 p.m. instead. I suggest you an infusion from South Africa called Rooibos: invigorating, anti-stress and great for headaches, it will end your day beautifully.
